Workshops

Register the workshop facilities your organization does repair work in.

On this page 6

A workshop is the facility record for a physical workshop — the place, tied to one warehouse, where work orders are carried out. This is different from a work order, which is a piece of work.

Before you start

Workshop is not governed by permission groups. Any member of an organization with the Workshop module enabled can create and view workshops.

Set up at least one warehouse before registering a workshop, since a workshop is tied to one.

The Workshops list

Open Workshop > Workshops.

Column Notes
Name The workshop's name. Links to its profile.
Warehouse The warehouse the workshop belongs to.
Status The workshop's status.

Sort defaults to the Name column, ascending. The toolbar shows a Create icon.

Create a workshop

  1. From the Workshops list, select the Create icon.
  2. Complete the fields below.
  3. Select Create workshop.
Field Required What to enter
Workshop name Yes The workshop's name.
Workshop code No Free text.
Legal name No The workshop's legal entity name.
Warehouse No The warehouse this workshop belongs to.
Description No Free text.

A toast confirms "Workshop created successfully" and you're taken to the new workshop's profile.

The workshop profile

Opening a workshop shows its Name and an Edit button, then Legal name (if set), Warehouse, Status, and Description (if set).

Edit a workshop

  1. Open the workshop's profile.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Update the Workshop name, Workshop code, or Description.
  4. Select Save changes.

A toast confirms "Workshop updated successfully" and you're returned to the profile.

Current limitations

  • Legal name and Warehouse can only be set when the workshop is created — the Edit form does not offer either field, so neither can be changed afterwards from the UI.
  • There is no Delete control for a workshop.
