An attribute is a definition of something you want to record against products — for example a measurement with a tolerance range. This page manages the definitions themselves; entering a value for a specific product happens from that product's profile.
Before you start
You need Attributes › View to open the list, Create to add an attribute definition, and Edit to change one.
The Attributes list
Open Products > Attributes.
| Column | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | The attribute's name. |
| Code | The attribute's code. |
| Label | The attribute's label. |
| Model | Always blank in this version. |
| Action | An Edit link for the row. |
Create an attribute
- From the Attributes list, select the Create icon.
- Enter a Name.
- Optionally enter a Label, Code, and Model, and switch on Numeric value if the attribute should always be treated as a number.
- Optionally enter a Description.
- Select Create attribute.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | The attribute's name. |
| Label | No | Free text. |
| Code | No | Free text. |
| Model | No | Free text. |
| Numeric value | No | Switch on to treat entered values as numbers. |
| Description | No | Free text. |
On success, you see a toast reading "Attribute created successfully" and you're returned to the Attributes list — there's no profile page to go to.
Edit an attribute
Select the pencil-icon Edit link on the attribute's row. The form is the same as Create, pre-filled.
Current limitations
- Attribute definitions have no profile/detail page and can't be deleted — only listed, created, and edited.
- The Model column on the list is always blank in this version.
