Module settings

Configure the Containers module's repair-estimate limit, reference data, billable products, surveyors, liable parties and MLO pricing as a team admin.

On this page 9

Module settings hold the parts of Container Depot that a team admin sets up once and everyone else works from: the repair-estimate limit, reference (master) data, billable products, surveyors, liable parties, and each MLO's price master.

Before you start

Note

Every screen described on this page is for team owners and admins only. It is not covered by permission groups — no other role can reach it, whatever their Container Depot permissions are set to.

Reach Module settings

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Module settings.
  3. In the Containers card, select one of: Module settings, Masters, Billable products, Surveyors, or Liable parties.
Note

A sixth screen — each MLO's billing prices — exists but has no link on this card. Reach it from the Masters page (see MLO price master below), or from an MLO's own profile in MLOs.

Module settings

Select Module settings in the Containers card.

Field What it does
Limit number of repair estimates Switch. Turn on to cap how many repair estimates a container can have.
Estimates limit Number. The cap used when the switch above is on.
Display liable party at estimate Switch. Turn on to show the liable party on a repair estimate.

Select Update settings to save. There's no confirmation toast — the page reloads on the same screen with your saved values in place.

Important

Two settings that OCTO Ops reads elsewhere have no control on this page, so a team admin can't change them from the UI today:

  • Which container conditions count as "available" — used by the Reports Estimates awaiting summary report to leave out containers already in an available condition, and by a non-blocking warning shown when releasing an outward.
  • A second list of conditions related to estimates and repairs — this one isn't currently used anywhere else in OCTO Ops.

Master data

Select Masters in the Containers card. The page shows six reference lists as cards.

Card Columns Editable from here?
Cargo types Code, Name Yes — select Edit, change Code, Name, or Description, then select Update cargo type.
Suitable cargo types Code, Name Yes — same pattern; select Update suitable cargo type to save.
Ports Code, Name Yes — same pattern; select Update port to save.
ISO types Code, Name No. Edit opens a page showing Code and Name, but both fields are disabled and there is no save button — despite the "Edit" label, it's a read-only view.
Conditions Code, Name No. This card has no Edit link at all.
MLO master list Code, Name Not directly — see below.

The MLO master list card has an Add to my org button on every row: selecting it copies that reference MLO straight into your organization's own MLO list, with no form to fill in. The card header also has a View my org's MLOs button, which opens the MLO billing-prices list used in the next section.

MLO price master

Reach the price master for an MLO in either of two ways:

  • From the Masters page, select View my org's MLOs on the MLO master list card, then select Billing prices next to the MLO.
  • From that MLO's own profile in MLOs, open its Actions menu and select Price master.

The page has these field groups:

Mount / Demount / Storage / Free days discount — a table with one row for each of those four charges, and a column for every combination of Laden/Empty and container size 20' / 40' / 45' (24 amount fields in total).

Billing settings:

Field Options
Bill period Monthly, Twice monthly
Repair bill period Monthly, Twice monthly
Bill for All, Out containers
Storage free days a number
Discount applicable for shipper return Yes, No
Consignee conversion rate a number
Repair cover a number
Conversion rate date as of Invoice date, Vessel in date, Container in date
Currency your base currency (shown as "{code} - Base") plus every currency your team has added

Discounts — a table with one row each for Storage discount, Handling discount, Block discount, Repair discount, Repair material discount, and Repair labor discount. Every row has a Type of Percentage or Value. Storage and Handling discounts also show Amount plus separate 20' / 40' / 45' amounts (no Rate column); the other four discounts show Amount and Rate only (no size columns) — the blank cells on each row are intentional, not missing data.

Select Update to save. Saving accepts whatever is entered — there's no field-level validation on this page — and there's no confirmation toast; the page simply reloads with your changes applied.

Invoices use these figures to calculate mounting, demounting, storage and repair charges, free-days entitlements, and the credit-note discount rows.

Billable products

Select Billable products in the Containers card: a read-only list of SKU and Name. There's nothing to select on this page — you can't create, edit, or remove a billable product from here.

Surveyors

Select Surveyors in the Containers card: a list of Name, with an Edit link per row. Selecting Edit shows:

Field
Name
Email
Description

Select Update surveyor to save.

Note

Surveyors can only be listed and edited. There is no way to create a surveyor, open a surveyor's profile, or delete one.

Liable parties

Select Liable parties in the Containers card to manage the parties that can be billed for a repair item. The list shows Name, Description, Default, and Status, with an Add liable party button and Edit and Archive/Unarchive actions on each row. Archived parties stay on the list but are no longer offered when you edit a repair item.

Managing liable parties needs access to Container Depot. Without it, the page shows a read-only list of Name and Description with a View link per row, which opens the party's details as disabled fields.

Current limitations

  • ISO types cannot actually be edited, despite the "Edit" label on the Masters list — the page it opens is read-only.
  • Conditions have no edit screen at all.
  • Billable products is a read-only list — there's no way to create or edit one.
  • Surveyors can only be listed and edited — there's no create, profile, or delete.
  • Two settings — which container conditions count as "available", and a second condition list for estimates and repairs — are read by OCTO Ops but have no control on the Module settings page.
  • The Module settings and MLO price master pages show no confirmation toast on save; each page simply reloads with your changes applied.
  • The MLO price master page has no field-level validation — whatever is entered is saved as given.
  • The MLO billing-prices list isn't linked from the Settings hub's Containers card — reach it via Masters or from an MLO's own profile.
