A sales return is a record of goods or credit returned by a customer. In this version, Returns is read-only: you can review existing returns, but you cannot create one.
Before you start
You need Sales › Returns › View to open the list and profiles. With View (own) you see only the returns you created. See Access.
The returns list
Open Sales > Returns. The list shows every sales return in your organization, with these columns:
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Date | The return's recorded date |
| Reference | Its reference, or a dash if none |
| Name | Its name, or a dash if none |
| Customer | The linked customer, or a dash if none |
| Status | Its current status |
| Total | Its total, right-aligned and written with your organization's number settings |
The list is sorted by Date, newest first. Select a row's Date or Name cell to open its profile.
When your organization has business units, the funnel icon filters the list by Business unit, starting with the unit chosen in the header; the card title names the choice. Two columns are added: Number, the return's number, and Business unit, last. A sales return never has a business unit of its own, so every return belongs to your main business and none carries a legal entity's prefix. They show when the filter is All business units or your main business; if the header has a business unit chosen, the list is empty until you change the filter.
There is no create button on this page, and no edit, print, or delete controls.
View a return (the profile page)
A return's profile is headed by its reference and status. It shows the return's name, description, customer, and date.
If the return has line items, a Ledger entries table lists each one's account name, memo, debit, and credit, written with your organization's number settings.
There is no Actions menu on this page.
Current limitations
- Sales returns cannot be created in this version — there is no create screen, and none of the toolbar or profile controls lead to one.
- A return cannot be edited or deleted once it exists — Returns is entirely read-only.
