An item is a unit of workshop work — priced, with an optional labour price — that can carry a list of materials it consumes and labor entries it takes.
Before you start
Workshop is not governed by permission groups. Any member of an organization with the Workshop module enabled can create and view items.

- OCTO Ops computes the Labour price for you, as labour unit price × labour units — you don't enter it directly.
- A toast confirms "Item created successfully" and you're taken to the new item's profile.
- A validation error shows inline under Item name; any other error shows an error dialog.
The item profile
Opening an item shows its Name, an Edit button, then Price, Labour unit price, Labour units, Labour price, and Description (if set).
Two cards list what the item is built from:
- Materials — the item's material lines, each showing Material and Qty, with an edit icon and a delete icon on each row. The card toolbar has an Add material link.
- Labor — the item's labor lines, each showing Name, Rate, and Qty, with the same edit/delete pattern. The card toolbar has an Add labor link.
