A transporter is the haulier that delivers or collects a container. Transporter records are used when registering container movements.
Before you start
You need the View permission for Transporters to see the list, the Create permission to add one, and the Edit permission to change one.
The Transporters list
Open Container Depot > Transporters. Columns: Code, Name, Description, and Action, with a pencil-icon Edit button for each row. The list sorts by Name, ascending, by default. The list shows 25 rows at a time by default, with a choice of 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, or all rows. Use the search box to find a transporter. The toolbar shows a create icon; there's no Actions menu.
Create a transporter
- From the Transporters list, select the create icon.
- Complete the fields below.
- Select Create transporter.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Transporter code | Yes | A code for the transporter. |
| Transporter name | Yes | The transporter's name. |
| Notes | No | Free text. |
Transporter name and code must both be unique. The code and name are both saved in uppercase.
On success you see "Transporter created successfully" and return to the Transporters list. A missing or duplicate name or code shows field-level errors and "Check your records before submitting this form again." Any other failure shows "A record already exists with this name or code. Please retry with different values."
Edit a transporter
- From the Transporters list, select the pencil-icon Edit button on the transporter's row.
- Update the code, name, or notes.
- Select Save changes.
The same required and unique-name/code rules apply, checked against every other transporter. On success you see "Transporter updated successfully" and return to the Transporters list.
Where transporters are used
Transporters are picked when registering an inward or an outward.
Current limitations
- Transporters have no profile page — there's nothing to open by selecting a row. Use the pencil-icon Edit button to view or change a transporter's details.
- A transporter can't be deleted.
