Fundraising

Register fundraisers and record donations against them.

On this page 6

A fundraiser record represents a fundraising campaign — its target amount, location and dates — with donations recorded against it.

Before you start

You need a signed-in OCTO Ops account with a verified email address, an active membership in the organization, and the Fundraising module enabled. Fundraising is not governed by permission groups — any member with the module enabled can create fundraisers and record donations.

The Fundraisers list

Open Fundraising > Fundraisers from the main navigation.

Column Shows
Name The fundraiser's name. Links to its record.
Location Where the fundraiser is held.
Target The fundraiser's target amount, right-aligned.
Status The fundraiser's current status.

The list is sorted by Name, ascending. Use the create icon in the toolbar to add a new fundraiser. There are no filters and no export buttons.

Register a fundraiser

  1. Open Fundraising > Fundraisers.
  2. Select the create icon.
  3. Fill in the fields below.
  4. Select Save.
Field Required What to enter
Name Yes The fundraiser's name.
Target amount No The amount you're aiming to raise.
Location No Where the fundraiser is held.
Start date No When the fundraiser begins.
End date No When the fundraiser ends.
Description No Free text.

What happens when you save: the fundraiser is created and you're taken to its record page, with the toast "Fundraiser created successfully". If Name is missing, OCTO Ops shows the toast "Check your records before submitting this form again." with the problem field marked inline, and nothing is saved. Any other failure shows an error dialog with the same message.

View a fundraiser

Selecting a fundraiser's Name from the list opens its record page, along with the donations already recorded against it.

Record a donation

  1. From a fundraiser's record page, open its donate screen.
  2. Fill in the fields below.
  3. Select Save.
Field Required What to enter
Donor No The customer donating, if you want to record one.
Amount Yes The donation amount.
Payment method No How the donation was paid.
Description No Free text.

What happens when you save: the donation is recorded and you're taken back to the fundraiser's record page, with the toast "Donation recorded successfully". The same validation and error handling as registering a fundraiser applies.

Current limitations

  • There is no separate Donations list — donations only appear inline on their fundraiser's record page.
  • There is no way to edit, delete, or print a fundraiser or a donation.
  • There is no visible control to change a fundraiser's Status from the application.
