Settings > Templates stores reusable pieces of HTML content, each tagged with a type and a name. It's a generic snippet store, not a dedicated email or print template builder — the letterhead used on printed documents is configured separately, under Module settings.
Any signed-in member of your organization can open and use Templates; it has no separate permission or minimum role.
The Templates list
The list shows each template's Name (links to it) and Type.
The Type column shows the raw type number rather than its name.
Create a template
- Select New template (or the page's create control).
- Choose a Type.
- Enter a Name.
- Enter Content in the plain text box provided.
- Select Create template.
There's no confirmation toast — saving takes you straight to the template.
Nothing on this form is validated, on the page or on the server. Submitting it empty is accepted, and any field you leave blank is saved as empty rather than rejected.
View a template
Opening a template from the list displays its Content as formatted HTML — any tags you included render exactly as written, they aren't shown as plain text.
Edit a template
Open a template and select Edit template to change its Type, Name, or Content, then select Update template. There's no confirmation toast; saving returns you to the template.
On this page, Type is a plain text field where you type the type's number, unlike the dropdown used when creating a template.
Current limitations
- No validation on create or edit — empty fields are accepted and saved as blank.
- Content is rendered as raw HTML when you view a template, with no preview or escaping.
- Type is a dropdown on Create but a plain number field on Edit — an inconsistency to watch for when editing an existing template.
- There is no way to delete a template through this screen.
