A control is a single quality-control test run, recorded against a profile. It holds a set of recorded test values, shown as code/value pairs.
Before you start
Quality is not governed by permission groups. Any member of an organization with the Quality module enabled can open the Controls list and any individual control's profile.
The Controls list
Open Quality > Controls.
| Column | Notes |
|---|---|
| ID | The control's reference number. Links to its profile. |
| Name | The control's name. |
| Barcode | The control's barcode, if set. |
| Date | The control's date. |
Sort defaults to the ID column, descending. There is no filter beyond the list's own search box.
The toolbar shows a Create icon, but see Current limitations below — selecting it does not currently open a working page.
The control profile
Opening a control from the list shows its Date, Barcode, and Description (if set), followed by a "Test values" card listing every recorded value as a Code / Value row. If nothing has been recorded, the card shows "No recorded values".
The toolbar shows an Edit icon, which has the same limitation as the Create icon described below.
Current limitations
- Controls cannot currently be created from the Quality module's own screens. The toolbar's Create icon is shown on the Controls list, but selecting it opens a broken page.
- Controls cannot currently be edited from the Quality module's own screens either, for the same reason — the profile's Edit icon opens a broken page.
- There is currently no way to add or change a control's test values from the OCTO Ops user interface.
