A voyage records a single vessel trip — a reference, a date, and the vessel that sailed it.
Before you start
You need the View permission for Voyages to see the list and a profile, and the Create permission to add one.
The Voyages list
Open Container Depot > Voyages. Columns: Date, Voyage number (links to the voyage's profile), Vessel, Notes, Status. The list sorts by Voyage number, ascending, by default. The list shows 25 rows at a time by default, with a choice of 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, or all rows. Use the search box to find a voyage. The toolbar shows a create icon; there's no Actions menu.
Create a voyage
- From the Voyages list, select the create icon.
- Complete the fields below.
- Select Create voyage.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Date | No | The sailing date. |
| Voyage | Yes | The voyage reference. |
| Vessel | No | The vessel this voyage belongs to, chosen from your existing vessels. |
| Notes | No | Free text. |
The voyage reference has no uniqueness check — you can save two voyages with the same reference.
On success you see "Voyage created successfully" and land on the voyage's profile. Any failure shows "Check your records before submitting this form again."
View a voyage (the profile page)
Open a voyage from the list to see its profile, headed Voyage: {voyage number}. The left-hand card shows the voyage number and vessel, then Vessel, Date, Status and Notes. To the right are Containers — the inwards recorded against this vessel and voyage number — and Stocks — the containers from them still in the yard, with the reservation each is held for. Busy cards list the latest 50 records and say how many there are in all.
Current limitations
- Voyages have no edit screen — once created, a voyage's details can't be changed through OCTO Ops.
- A voyage can't be deleted.
